Community Service

Noble Street campuses, including Gary Comer College Prep, require that all students complete community service hours. In doing so, we not only provide a service to others in need, but also demonstrate an appreciation for the community that supports us as a school. Community service is defined as an activity or event in which you are involved in work that serves the community as supervised by an approved non-profit or government agency. The act or event must have a direct, positive impact on the community.

Requirement: In order to pass this requirement, students are expected to complete a minimum of 80 community service hours according to the benchmarks outlined below. All hours must be completed at a pre-approved site or project.

Site Minimum: It is important that Gary Comer College Prep students become familiar with different service opportunities and sites. In order for service to count for the year, students must serve at a minimum of four approved sites or trips for at least one hour at each site. Failure to serve at a minimum of four sites or trips will result in course failure.

Noble Quote #7

“If you are to be among the noble you must be noble. If you are to be among the wise, you must be wise, if you would be among the pure in heart, you must be pure in heart.”
